Episode 210: New World in My View

Eric and Sookie together was a great opening and I loved the kiss that they shared. It showed just how much Sookie wants to comfort him. Sadly, it was just another wild dream. I can’t help feeling that there’s more to her dreams then her new desire for Eric. Maybe she can feel his emotions and they are subconsciously influencing her dreams.

Looks like Bon Temps got hit by Hurricane Maryann. And Sookie’s house has been turned into enemy headquarters. If there was any question about who attacked Sookie in the woods we now know for sure it was Maryann. Bill attacking and drinking her blood was not only useless but harmful. Looks like Bill will have to get some outside advice from the Queen on this one. How can she refuse to help him when he looks so hot in his leather jacket? From what we saw the Queen’s house totally rocked. And what’s up with Sookie’s new power? That was unexpected and cool. It looks like Sookie may have a bigger part to play in bringing down Maryann. Even Maryann doesn’t know what she is.

Jason has found his calling as a chainsaw toting, nail gun slinging mercenary. And when he was impersonating the god, I couldn’t stop laughing! The whole performance by him, Andy and Sam was so ridiculous and brilliant all at the same time. But hey, whatever works to get the possessed mob off your back.

I was so glad to see that they were able to save Tara but now of course she wants to help Eggs. Maybe that’s what Maryann was expecting when she said that she’d come back and bring the others.

Will Hoyt be able to stop Jessica from killing mommy dearest? And will he forgive her if she does? I honestly can’t blame her. That woman is hard to take even when she’s not possessed by an evil demon.

That episode was just too short, no really it was only 45 minutes. What the heck!

I've noticed an inconsistency with the show--the effect that Vampire blood/V has on humans. Some examples:
-Jason got high off 1-2 drops, yet “OD”d with a small mouthful from that Vile.
-Sookie drank a couple drops from Eric, which had no physical effect on her (not including her connection with Eric). BUT, when she drank from Bill numerous times, she only had temporarily heightened senses, along with the healing of her wounds.
-Lafayette also got high off 1-2 drops of V, but when he drank Eric’s blood he just had crazy sexual energy, along with the healing.

How much V does one need to OD? Is drinking straight from a Vampire different than taking it from a vile? Does vampire blood always dramatically increase one’s sexual desires/impulses? Finally, does drinking blood while injured (with the purpose of healing) automatically prevent an OD?

OMG. Yes it was Sort but i think HBO mght make it up with something super super Huge! The whole thing is getting so real. I jumped out of my chair at the sight of Sookie's new power!
Apparently my friend told me in the books, Sookie is a Fae Folk. which if you are not familiar with Celtic Lore is the proper name for a Fairy of elemental. Its totally gong to be huge! Like second coming huge!

i'm glad the eric thing was a dream..i really don't feel like having 2 episodes or more about her cheating on bill with eric and then the following episodes trying to get back with bill and apologize for cheating. It's a cheap plot device tbh...

what was going on with the queen? Why was she dripping blood and bill looked shocked - i'm guessing the queen is dead or not what he expected?

Whatever. Bills an asshole (and you'll know what I mean if you read the books. everyone will find out the real truth soon enough)... >:(

The queen isnt dead.. shes played by Evan Rachel Wood and she's def in the season finale. I think she was just feeding on some human in the scene.

The last two episodes have sucked royally! If they have to make up their own storylines instead of following the books I wish they'd come up with a good one. Its so disappointing, season one was so good. I hope season 3 is better.

I LOVED the Eric/Sookie dream sequence in the very beginning and was so frustrated when I realized it was just a dream. I see so much more chemistry between Eric and Sookie than Bill and Sookie, its unreal!

As for the length of this episode, 45 minutes is just too darn short for me! I wait all week for Sundays @ 9pm and expect a full 60 minutes!

With only 2 episodes left in this season I can hardly contain myself. Here's to hoping we see much more of Eric and Sookie :)

That was a great episode! But I was thinking the same thing, why so short?

Also, why wasn't Jason or Lafayette effected by MaryAnn?
Why are certain people effected by her and others aren't? Other than them being immune because of Supernatural powers? Hmmmm

The only reason I can think of is that Jason hasn't been around Maryann and Lafayette wasn't taking part in any of Maryann's parties. She hasn't had a chance to get into their heads and influence them.

I don't understand why Lafayette isn't attracted to Eric like Sookie is. They both drank his blood. And wouldn't Eric sense Lafayette and Sookie's fear and come to help during last nights episode?

Also, when you drink V, can the vampire whose blood your drinking sense your feelings? Or do you have to drink directly from the vampire?

And finally, why is Eric having Lafayette sell V????

Tracie said...

I think that Eric is trying to trap the buyers of V. he has Lafayette sell it to them and then he goes after them.

That's a good point about sensing Sookies emotions.

At 45 minutes it was noticeably short but I was actually kind of glad - one of the worst eps yet, imo. Weak sauce.

"I've noticed an inconsistency with the show..." - welcome to True Blood when inconsistency matters not.

I think that this episode was made to just find out what is going on inside the heads of those with the bug eyes. It would be interesting if Barry the bellboy came to help Sookie again. Also was Eggs like still at the house when Sookie came home or with the mob? Anyhoo, I am ready to meet the queen!

Someone mentioned Barry the Bellboy..I wonder if he has the same power that Sookie has as we've seen in last night's episode. They can both read minds and remember when Lorena tried to feed on Barry at the hotel? She said he was different and also wondered what he was. Hmm..I think we'll be seeing more of him in the coming season or maybe even in the last episode to help Sookie...Oh, I'm so excited, my mind is just running different scenarios in my head..

Uh yeah it was obvious. Didn't you watch the previous episodes? Sookie finds out that the bellboy and her have the same powers.. that's why she contacted him when she needed help.

ok, i did not like last nights episode. the maryann story line is just getting ridiculous. i seriously do NOT like her!! if they were gonna have a show that is based off of a book series then why are they not doing anything that has to do with the books??? yes most of the names are the same, plus some, but the story lines are horrible. i seriously wanted to turn it off when i was watching it. i look forward to watching true blood every week and i was so disappointed with last nights show... anyways, i LOVE eric and sookie! i hope they stick with the books on their relationship!! that would be awesome! i cant stand bill and sookie. every week i keep wondering and hoping that she will get rid of him... we will see i guess. for some reason, i really like the jessica character! she is just really awesome and i hope she takes out that awful woman! however, she was so hilarious when she was under maryanns spell! i couldnt stop laughing!!! haha~

I finally watched Sunday's episode last night! Love it!!! I laughed so hard at Jason acting as their "God".....that was hilarious!!!! And when Sam changed the look on Jason's face was priceless when sam came back out with the fire extinguisher.....!!! Again I was upset to see the kiss was just another dream....:( I can't wait till the next episode!!!

To everyone whom is confused about the relationship between True Blood the show and the Sookie Stackhouse books... I believe Alan Ball created True Blood based on the idea's and inspirations he gathered from reading The Sookie Stackhouse stories. He never intended to do a playwright of these books. I would recommend sitting back and enjoying the show and stop using the books as a reference to the future. True Blood is def a one in a million show and the twist and turns are mind boggling. Hopefully we can blog more about what we think will happen next as oppose to what we think we know will happen next based on the books that have clearly not completely matched.

great last point by Anaonymouse at 1052am! well said, I agree...I am hooked and I am 42 years old.....

I am also curious why so many folks dislike Maryanne character? She is a so essential to this story line for this season, she needs Sam, she needs his power to give to her gods, and after Sunday, she just may need Sookie and “what are you??” that was great.

For the whole Barry the bell boy thing, I'm pretty sure lorena killed him a couple of episodes ago. Personally, I LOVE the way Alan Ball is turning the series into his own masterpeice. He developes the charactes and gives them way more depth than the books do. I wouldn't nearly get enough of the necessary amount of Jason if he followed the books :-) Excited but sadden that there's only 2 more episodes left. My sundays in winter will surely be dull :-/

Yes I agree that the show and the books are different but us book readers can STILL predict what will happen... It's no big deal. We can make predictions as to what will happen if we want and who cares if theyre right or wrong. This happens when someone bases a movie/show on books.. people guess what will happen--if it'll follow the book or not. Just deal with it.

I think the blood affect Lafayette like alcohol does sometimes - it brings out your personality stronger. As for Sookie having Eric's blood - I think it affects Sookie because that's what Eric wants it to do so he can control it. All in all, I think the last show wasn't so great, but I think it's really setting it up for finale.

Yea, I think last weeks episode was really just setting everything up for the last two. This Sunday should be a great one and leave us on the edge of our seats! Can't wait!

I agree you cannot read the books and expect the series to be the same. I know exactly what you mean by Bill being different in the books.. was not to happy with this weeks episode I am hoping that they finish this thing with maryann and move on already!!!!!

Hmmm Someone said they were 42 and hooked. I was hooked with season 1 at 17 :P I enjoy this story line. It would be really interesting to see how powerful Evan Rachel Wood is and/or how powerful the god they are trying to summon is. As for Barry the bell boy... has anyone ever wondered if you can turn a telepath? or what kinda of vampire they would become? I think that may have something to tie in with season 3 which HBO already signed on for of course. And this whole thing with erik and sookie is a bit odd but then it makes you wonder does Sookie REALLY love bill? or is she just really hooked up on his blood which she drank vigorously after getting the crap beatin out of her in season 1. I wonder what Erik meant in the preview by "I do know someone who may be able to offer something useful" and what is Carl? I mean you kinda piece him together as just a human serving maryanne but maybe he turns out to be something. As well as what what will happen to eggs? I think he will barely make it out alive. and one final question that does sound a bit dumb but Where did Bill go change his clothes? I mean he had on jeans and a leather jacket, did he go home and see jessica attempting to bite hoyt's mom? well it is a small question but one that bugged me, probably due to the short 45minute episode. This Episode left a lot of questions while providing a really great episode. And this is the most comments on the season 2 episodes i think . Sunday come quicker please! as a matter of fact September 13th come faster.
