Episode 209: I Will Rise Up

This was an emotional episode.

Eric saved Sookie, just like we expected. Mischievous to the last though. I can’t believe how under handed he was in order to get to Sookie. He looked quite pleased with himself and enjoyed himself a little too much. It was awesome.

The dream…that was great. I guess that blood works fast. What I want to know is did Eric have the dream too? Was he part of the dream/controlling the dream? If he was then he didn’t let on. What did Eric mean by saying “this is only the beginning”? We don’t know the full effects of the blood, so maybe Eric could interact with her in a dream state.

Go Lafayette! I’ve never been gladder to see him and it was awesome to see him kick some ass! Hopefully, Lafayette and Tara’s mom will be able to help Tara. She is definitely far gone.

Looks like Sam just needed enough incentive to shift to get out of jail and Maryann is certainly that. It’s cool to see Sam use his powers to their full extent, but playing hide and seek with Maryann seems to be pissing her off more and she has the whole town at her disposal to find him. I wonder how Andy is going to help. He is definitely Sam’s only ally at the moment.

Seeing Eric breakdown was almost more than I could take. We’ve never seen him with so much emotion and it was unexpected. I was sad to see Godric go. I was hoping he would stick around and help the vampire community evolve. Two thousand years is a lot of knowledge to lose, but it seemed like it was what he truly wanted. It explains why he was willing to sacrifice himself to the Fellowship of the Sun. Sookie being there for Godric’s end will create a bond between her and Eric. At the very least, Eric will appreciate her for doing what he could not.

I can’t believe there are only three episodes left and it looks like the shit is going to hit the fan. Finally the Stackhouses and the vampires are going to get in the fight against Maryann. It’s going to be one hell of a confrontation. Is it next Sunday yet?

I don't know about best episode ever-but certainly EMOTIONAL! OMG I felt like MY heart had been ripped out when we lost Godric! Given the way he left though...I'm thinking there's no possibility of return :~(

Yeah I'm all for Sookie & Eric but i didnt expect the dream to happen so fast.. still though, I'm happy :)
It was definately sad seeing Godric go but I thought seeing Eric cry was even worse.
As for the dream Sookie had of him.. I'm pretty sure it was just her who had that since its her who has this new attracted towards him. Plus he looked a little confused when he caught her looking at him during the meeting :P

I hate Eric for what he did. Bill and Sookie's love are an integral part of the story and I think they are messing that up.

I thought it was interesting that in the dream Sookie talks about how much love Eric has and then with Cedric Eric shows his love for him by offering to stay.

I don't think Sam can change until he sees and actual animal of some kind can he? Like the bird in the woods?

What an awesome show!!!

Stan died. Yeahhhhh!!! I think Sam has to be near an animal to shift into it. Or touch it. I liked how Hoyt stood up to his mother. Finally.

I thought the chemistry between Eric and Sookie was terrible. But interesting that Bills maker was in the dream.

Can't wait until they return home and I wonder what Sookie will do when she finds MaryAnn in her house..

I love Eric and Sookie together I hope he takes Sookie away from Bill! As for the shifter, he definatley has to see the animal to change into it. Thes why he kept that pet dog by his place at Merlottes (quick shift access. Does anyone know when the 3rd season is going to come out?? I hoping this winter! *crosses fingers*

Ok Im all about the Eric and Sookie connection.....Its sexy and intense....finally some thrill as opposed to lame Bill... no offense. I feel like he plays father to her so much & is always scolding her wtf..."No Sookie" (in his raspy voice lmao)...and she always replies "Oh Bill" (with her conutry twang accent haha). Anyways its getting good and im finally entertained with this quad love triangle...Bill, Sookie, Eric and Bills Crazy Bitch Marker.

Now my favorites and reasons why I watched the show from the beginning and countinue to do so...is the supporting characters.....Tara...wth is up with her common sense tells you after that pie beatdown..the next day I would start whoopin some a**....she is so not playing the role of a Black woman but hey I leave that to Lafayette lmao. He straight kicked Eggs bad and I enjoyed every moment of Mary Ann's b*tch getting b*tch slapped by one haha.

Sad only 3 episodes left....DEPRESSED already =(

I don't want anything to happen between Eric and Sookie.I just don't think he can care for her as much as Bill does and it just seems like he's doing it to show Bill that he can. kind of like a cat and mouse play. It all seems very childish and mischievous to me, but I guess that's why we love Eric. But I'm super excited to see the effects Eric's blood will have on Sookie and how Bill will handle it.

ok..i just want someone to kick maryann's ASS! I just don't get it..she is annoying and needs to get a v-pire beatdown.

Godic...that was so sad! I wanted to see more of him! :(

eric...he is a sneeky one! he does bring in some good drama! ;)

bill's losing points bc he's looking like a wimp and needs to kick some ass in order to redeem himself. but omg, bad boy eric is sooooooo sexy and gorgeous, as layfayette says "sex on a stick"! it'd be nice to see bill act (again)like that too (check him out at merlottes when sookie first met him). eric is so obviously stealing the show, imo. i could watch him read the phone book, and am already depressed-3 episodes left! i pray alex skarsgaard will be in a movie during the lull between seasons, or it's not fair!!!!!!

The shifters became animals when they were running through the woods together, and I don't think there were any real animals to see or be near then. Also, when that girl became the pig, I don't think there needed to be a pig nearby. I just think Sam got the idea from seeing the fly.

But at any time, he could've become any small animal or snake and go right through the cell bars, then pick up his clothes by reaching back in the cell. He could've done it at night when all the partiers were asleep.

Also, if Stan was that Vampire with the cowboy hat, I'll miss him. They needed a bad-ass traditional Vampire around. Also, that PR lady was pretty good. She seems to be very high-ranking. Even Godric deferred to her.

I think the Newlins will be back, after watching that tv commercial...

Does anone know when the next season comes out?? also I still Love Bill even though he is getting a little lame and does act like a father He can take a bite out of me anytime. I don't trust Eric at all he's hot and all but not trustworthy.

Very good episode. And i wonder what godric meant when he asked sookie about god... i mean didn't he meet jesus? wouldnt that ensue a connection? but anyways can't eric also feel Lafeyette? I mean if i saw some glossed over black eyes a few light bulbs would be exploding in my head. He beat the crap outta eggs, very enjoyable to watch. As for hoyt it is cool seeing him take a stand but I have a odd feeling he is going to sacrifice himself to save Jessica at some point in the upcoming confrontation. Which only leads me to wonder if the entire town in under control what do they do with hoyt and jessica, or lafeyette and tara's madre? I love in the preview of the next episode jason has a chainsaw, I will lookforward to seeing the heart cutter become the head cutted* assuming that makes sense. Sunday seems so far away..

I'm obsessed with this show. I'm sad to see Sookie being torn from Bill, but what can you do?

Sam didn't want to just shapeshift and get out, because he wasn't trying to blow his cover. When he hasn't done anything, he doesn't want to draw attention.

I think that people who don't trust Maryann cannot come under her spell. Andy, Lafayette, and Tara's mom were all suspicious, and Tara, when she wasn't quite trusting her yet, didn't fall under her spell. I think you have to trust her completely to have your eyes turn black.

When Lafayette and Ms Horton took Tara away, what did she mean when she said "She'll be back, and she'll bring them with her."? And what is Sook gonna do when she comes home to these strangers in her house?

I love Jessica & Hoyt!! The actor who plays Hoyt is very good! I have a feeling Jessica will be Hoyt's maker so that the lack of sexy won't matter and then they can be together for all of eternity. To spite his mom! I think he'll beg her to change him and he'll be her "first" in more ways than one!

I CAN'T WAIT FOR SUNDAY!! And hopefully the time between Seasons 2&3 won't be nearly as long as the time between Seasons 1&2!!

Ok, so I'm totally an addict! Few things, first off, Sookie and Bill were great together but I think Sookie and Eric will blow the roof off this show. Secondly, the emotions of this episode totally catapulted my feelings for alot of the characters. I was really sad to see Godric go. Eric absolutely broke my heart and I actually shed a tear for him. Poor Bill, he looked pathetic explaining to Sookie she may start having sexual feelings for Eric since she's had his blood. Jason's brain actually seemed to be working finally. It was a relief to see Lafayette kicking ass again. For a minute there I thought the vamps totally broke his spirit. Wow is all I can say. So needless to say, Sunday can't come fast enough......

Yes, Eric and Sookie are an amazing pair, the tension between them is awesome, but i predict eric will get hurt in the end, at least on TB. He's used to getting whatever he wants for 1000 years, but this will be the kiss of death for him after all his years of being so fucking sexy, oops, i mean, selfish. i don't know what happens to eric in the books, however, i'm only on book #3.
i think Godric will be back too, somehow, he seems too good a character to waste. Maybe he'll come back as an angel. Eric crying was pretty much unbearable to watch AND hear, but it sealed the deal for Sookie, you can tell by the way she was looking at him. I myself would follow Eric anywhere, anytime, any day.

He is a sly one...and I halfway wonder if he can control what happens in the dream or if its just a psycho-reaction of Sookie's, after all she says awake she hates him because he's callused, but in the dream it was exactly opposite.

I'm not going to ruin anything for anyone who doesn't know, but if you read the books you'd understand what's coming a little more clearly, regardless of how different the show has been from the book series.

Eric's show of emotion wasn't necessarily unexpected, but definitely surprizing simply because he was the 3rd vamp to be crying in that episode alone, that's alotta blood tears!

Sam and Andy better set up a good plan...well...Sam anyway :)

Oh, for those interested in seeing the "trailer" for episode 10...it definitely looks good :)

I have to agree, Eric and Sookie would only do this show more, but frankly it's almost a too perfect union, people are wanting it to become that, as soon as it does, the show writers might fear people tuning off. Not to mention the moral issue as mentioned above by a few others: Eric hasn't exactly been kind to women in the past, now that he wants one he expects to have her no matter what. Bill's love is unconditional. They'll either kill him off (probably a knowing self-sacrifice to save Sookie, and prior telling Eric to watch over her or something like he did with Sam in Season 1). Otherwise, our wish of that perfect union will continue to be a dream!

I think they need to tie up the story with MaryAnn...it's getting old. I love the storyline with Hoyt and Jessica.....I hope they keep her innocent yet feisty...I really like them together. It will be interesting to see how they leave us hanging this year....

Ok does anyone think that reading the books 1st is a bad idea?? I am on book 2 and I will say in the first book Bill seems alot darker than in the series....
