Episode 205: Never Let Me Go

Deer Daphne. That explains what’s up with her, but the scar is still a mystery. Sam seemed a bit too afraid after seeing Daphne shift. You’d think he’d never seen anything like it. ;-)

I was not expecting Maryann wanting to move in. It was awfully convenient that her home was all of the sudden borrowed. It’s possible that she was telling the truth, but I have my doubts. Was anyone else freaked out when Tara came home and found Maryann dressed like Gran and waiting up for her at the kitchen table reading a book? Déjà vu, anyone? She’s really screwing with Tara and we found out that Maryann can create discord as well as lust.

I think Barry was a bit of a let down. I was hoping for more, but I suppose he could show up later. Did he just disappear to get away from Sookie or did something happen to him?

It was really interesting and fun to see Eric’s Viking back story. Eric had a lot of spirit before he was turned and a fan of the ladies. We had a strong suspicion that Godric was his maker and we were not disappointed. Eric is finally starting to have more depth now that we see he actually cares for someone other than himself.

The cracks are finally starting to show in the Newlin’s marriage and things are only going to escalate between Sara and Jason. It’s interesting to see that Steve is hiding things from Sara. So she may not know the true extent to which the church is working towards eradicating the vampires. It will be interesting to find out what Sookie will read from Sara in next week’s episode. Will she find out about Jason or will Jason see her and blow her cover?

In the episode preview, it seemed out of place to see a flash back to how Bill was turned. It became clear though when his maker showed up at the end of the episode. That does not bode well for Bill. She is definitely going to be a problem.

this was one of the weaker episodes I thought. the writing resembled 1970's 2 bit television series kinda stuff. i though it was predictable and trite at best. too much silliness. the show must be believeable as far as how people might react in certain situations... like that couple that interrupted Sam and what's her name naked in the woods - and instead of saying "oops... sorry" and they then go on their way - they just stood there and gawked at them until Sams' hottie ran away. I'm sorry, but that's just not believable. Then there's and Lafayette (sure am glad he's back in the fold. My favorite character to be sure!)... when asked by Sam, "where were you?" after he graciously gave him his job back... Lafayette rudely give him a weird look, turns, and walks out. I'm sorry... but if I'm Sam... I'm MAKING him answer that question! At least to say, "I'm sorry but I can't say right now... but thanks for asking"... am I right?!" But all is forgiven at the end of the episode. It was saved by the re-appearance of Bill's maker. I really must be into this show if I remembered her from what? 7 months ago??!! when we saw her for the first and only time. The implications are very intriguing with her appearance... in that Bill MUST obey her every command! That's IF I've got my "vampire code-book" straight. So if that's the case... you have to worry about our girl Suki in Dallas with those REALLY crazy vampires! Who would-a thunk that there's actually different levels of vampire craziness! LOL! I DO love this show and have every reason to believe that the writing will get back to it's HBO-first-rate caliber.

I loved this episode! I feel bad for Sam - he seems to be out of the loop with EVERY plot point going on!!! I can't wait to see what happens when Sookie goes after the church...I hope she gets Jason out of there before it's too late. I love Jessica and Hoyt's "relationship"...I really hope they build on it!!! Next week's episode can't come soon enough!

I agree with you Ice Cream Man - I was a little annoyed with Sookie in this episode. The dialogue between her and Bill was kinda really annoying.

What is Maryann? I know I know, but I can't drag it up from the depths!

Sookie and Bill are booooooring! Eric and Jason are far more intriguing.

I'm all about Eric! Looking forward to more of him, learning what he's about and the relationship between him and Sookie...

Folks, what Maryann is, is no mystery. We saw during the birthday party for Tara that her hands actually turned into the claws that has been ripping up the backs of Sookie, Daphne, etc.

She is the monster, probably some kind of demon.

True Blood is not good. I LOVED last season and couldn't wait for this one to begin. It's stupid, the acting is bad, the writing is bad, the over-the-top sex scenes are not only unnecessary, they are in extremely poor taste (see my comment on the writing is bad) and I'm done.

Did anyone think that Terry was one of the soldiers in the war scene that was "killed" by Godrick? And Terry does have war issues, but from how far back???
