Episode 212: Beyond Here Lies Nothin

I did not expect that Maryann was going to use Sookie as her maid of honor, but I guess she wanted someone special (i.e. not human). Bill’s plan worked really well. It was intense, but it went off without a hitch. Sam ended up saving the day and the town. I thought it might take more than that to put end to Maryann, but she seemed pretty dead. Supernatural beings have a way of popping back up, though and Tara said she felt like it wasn’t really over. Jason and Andy weren’t very effective, but I’m not surprised, Jason was the leader. At least they pitched in at the end to help bring people home.

We have a partial answer to why Eric is having Lafayette push V and that’s the Queen. We still don’t know why she wants V to be sold and she feels that Bill Compton knowing about the V is a threat.

Bill’s evening with Sookie was very romantic. It was well planned from the beautiful dress he bought her to the proposal. I thought he was going to propose when he reached in his pocket, but then he pulled out a plane ticket. I was a bit thrown, but then he pulled out the ring like I thought he was going to do. I didn’t expect Sookie’s reaction, but I could understand it. Will Sookie think that Bill just left her or will she suspect that something else happened? Eric is the most logical person to be behind Bill’s disappearance. He told the queen that he would take care of Bill and with Bill being gone he will have a big opening into Sookie’s life.

Okay, what about Jessica? It seems like Hoyt was the only thing that let her hold on to her humanity, but what will happen when she sees the flowers he left her? It was so sweet that he came by to apologize. It was nice to see him really stand up to his mother and decide to take control of his life, but it seems like it might be too late for them.

Eggs was a very tragic character. He was the most used by Maryann and I don’t think he would have come to terms with the things he had done under her control. I was shocked to see Eggs not only get killed, but shot by Jason. Oh my god, what was he thinking?! Tara is not going to let Eggs’ death go. It seems like Tara can’t catch a break when it comes to love.

I think that Sam looking for his birth parents is going to be trouble next season. What kind of creatures gives birth to shape shifters? It will be interesting to learn more about them.

Overall, this season was very exciting and we got to know all the characters better, especially Eric and he’s going to have an even bigger role in season three as the love triangle strengthens. Can’t wait to find out what the new big bad “thing” is going to be and hopefully we’ve left the orgies behind for good!

So what did you guys think of the finale?

Thanks so much for following the blog. It’s been a lot of fun. We’ll keep posting things as we anxiously wait for season three to begin!

TBH I was very upset about the ending and at the same time loved it! I was upset how Maryanne died and that her final plan didnt go on the whole episode. And things went very slow and boring after that until Eggs got killed, which didn't bother me since I didn't really feel anything for him but Tara and Sooikie's relationship might be effected because I know Sookie will feel guilty and tell Tara what she did. I can't believe we have to wait a year to find out what happend to Bill! we all know who the 3 suspects are, Eric, Queen, and his maker. I was overall happy with the season and I havent and will not read the books. I NEVER WANT TO SEE ERIC AND SOOKIE TOGETHER, NEVER! I hope they dont take it that far, and I cant wait for season 3!

I did not like that they killed Maryanne off so fast. She was such a huge part of the season I thought they speed into it to fast. I liked that they killed Eggs off did not like him. Now if they will just kill off Bill and let Eric move in on Sookie things will be going my way. Had to be another Vamp, put the silver around Bill's neck they had gloves on. I'm sure it was Eric. Love the show can't wait for next season to start.

Huh, not sure what to say about that episode. It was a little slow I thought and Sookie casually talking to MaryAnn about her plans was weird. I think that the Vampire Queen is Hilariuos! Her explanation of why she plays Yahtzee was very funny. I'm sure it's Eric that took Bill but was waiitng for more of a cliff hanger at the end of the season. I think Sookie will know that something happened to Bill, the chair was turned over, the ring was till on the table and the place was a mess.

Anyone know the date or month season three will start? I had no idea at age 42 I would be so hooked on a TV show and wonder when the new series will begin. Anyone? June 2010? The HBO web site does not say. thanks!

Finale was a fitting conclusion to this season - which was pretty underwhelming and pretty ridiculous (even for TB standards). Hopefully the time off gives Ball and company some rejuvenated creativity because for me, the last several episodes were insufferable.

Not happy with Finale...really, why do they make it so silly???

This episode was better than the last. I think Bill's maker may have something to do with him being kidnapped. I think that some events were meant to just take up time and that the writers had a specific idea of what they wanted the episode to end with.

I will sure miss "The Antics of Sookie and friends " lol. The white bull suprized me . But it was a fast death. Then they just sort of jumped around tieing up the other stories. The finger thing was silly . I will look forward to next season for sure

Last night's episode was ridiculous and at times boring. I can only imagine what the actors were thinking when they were in their silly costumes jumping around, bug eyed and chanting some kind of satanic babble. What was up with the egg? Please, Please I implore the screenwriters to do a better job next season. Otherwise, you may lose
fans and their interest in the show. I know I can wait a year. I look forward to seeing more of Eric.

I loved the episode! It was much better then the last one. I think the Queen had one of her henchmen kidnap Bill, but I'm sure Eric knows something about it. I really hope the writers don't push Bill and sookie into a relationship because Eric (on the show) should not be in a relationship in my opinion.

I didn't hate the episode I thought it had some very hight points the last couple of eps. really told me what to expect really. I am glad Marianne is gone, but wish her death would have been different. I was livid for a few minutes of the proposal, but then the cliffhanger saved it. I read an interview AB gave to Entertainment Weekly, and he gave some spoilers about Season 3.

i REALLY ENJOYED THIS EPISODE AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR SEASON 3 I THINK THEY ARE FIANLLY GOING TO TAKE THINGS IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION AND MAYBE FOCUS A LITTLE ON BOOK 5 AND 6 AT LEAST TAKE SOMETHING FROM THEM. OVER ALL I ENJOYED SEASON 2 BUT LIKED 1 ALOT BETTER

eric is in bed with the wacko church dude...they liked the use of silver chain...eric is selling blood, im sure he would coach a vamp killer on how to better do it...this leaves his hands clean

The Maryann story has by far been the weak link this season and it was glaring in the season finale. It was completely anticlimactic and uninspiring, and the events after were totally pointless. Full review of the episode on my blog.

Thank goodness for Maryann being gone!!! I am so excited...the way that AB dragged her part out this season was ridiculous and I feel that they could've had a lot more interesting things happen if her role was smaller. I was surprised to see how the hole "sacrifice" scene went...it was completely different from what I was thinking...I also think that Sookie hesitated with Bill's proposal because of her blood bond with Eric....I don't think Sookie and Bill should be together...as far as Bill's dissaprence...because of reading the books...I'm pretty sure I know what happened....it will be interesting to see what AB makes of season three...I can't wait for it!! My advice is if your hooked like me...read the books...if you don't want to spoil season three for yourself then just read the first two...wait until season three and after read the third one...the books go into so much detail!! Congrats to Charlene Harris for her acting debut in True Blood at the end talking to Sam!!

Season Two has had moments of brilliance and moments of sheer moronic stupidity. Overall, Season One was amazing and the first half of Season Two was pretty outstanding. Unfortunately, after a while True Blood just became the Maryann show. Hearing Tara call out "Eggs!" constantly drove me so insane I was hoping Maryann would cut her heart out! Sookie began to border on TSTL and Bill seemed to become an emasculated version of himself until he and Sam finally finished Maryann - liked that bull! Queen Sophie Anne annoyed the hell out of me - blech! I hope they step it up a notch with the writing for her next season. And Eric...oh Eric...where are you? Eric is the one I want to see and I'd like a little more Pam.
Highlights - Jason, Jessica, Hoyt, Lafayette, Godric and Eric. Lorena - nasty girl! Wish she was the queen!
The last few episodes of the season were a real disappointment for me.

I don't know the point in focusing on the maenad story since it has so little importance on the books. I love the show but love the books more!

The core characters, including Sookie's best friend Tara (Rutina Wesley), Sookie's brother Jason (Ryan Kwanten) and bartender Sam (Sam Trammell), who has a thing for Sookie, all have interesting features and are well-played. The rest of the locals don't come off so well, mostly having few brains and a big shortage of couth. I Watch Ture Blood Online
